PORTFOLIO

Black Business Owners Forum

Danielle Douglas founded the Black Business Owners Forum in October 2020 in response to the lack of MWBE legislation creating a framework to catapult strong minority businesses. She witnessed Black businesses experiencing lack of access to capital and limited contract opportunities. Thus the Black Business Owners Forum was launched to help Tri-state Black Business Enterprises get contract-ready for contract opportunities.

Held annually, Black Business Owners Forum provides a vital and valuable platform that empowers Black business owners in construction and professional services through resources, education, opportunities and direct connections to developers, corporations, organizations and industry leaders.

The Council for Black Business Enterprises

Danielle founded The Council for Black Business Enterprises in August of 2020. It is a community of stakeholders who have taken on the shared responsibility to address the disparities experienced by Black Business Enterprises in the public and private contracting systems.

The Council is comprised of influencers who have come together to be Champions for Black Business Enterprises by creating real, meaningful change, as well as changing mindset, biases and processes to be inclusive.

The Council serves as a platform to hear and listen to the needs of Black Business Owners to identify and implement practical solutions as well as positively influence systems that exclude Black Business Enterprises.

Since inception The Council of Black Business Enterprises has:

  • participated in Inspire Enterprises’ Black Business Owners Forum 2020 and 2021.

  • planned and delivered our inaugural event, Access to Capital: Bridging the Gap in February of 2021 in celebration of Black History Month.

  • created and delivered the Streetwise Stronger: Engage.Elevate.Expand capacity building program for thirty (30) black business enterprises in the construction industry.
